Following a series mass of shootings this year, Walmart has pledged that it will make it harder for people to purchase firearms.
“We’re going to implement strategies to make it harder for people to purchase guns. One of these is by moving them to higher shelves, hindering any would be shooters under about 5’5, unless they ask for a member of staff.
And speaking of our employees, we’ll be removing their name tags, making it a lot more tedious and awkward to find somebody to help you buy a shotgun. Do they work here, or do they just enjoy wearing blue waistcoats and stocking shelves? Try navigating that embarrassing minefield you maniacs!”
CEO Doug McMillon said last week that the company supports “common sense” gun control policies.
“We’ll also be closing stores half an hour, so good luck any mass shooters who need supplies after 8.30pm; you’ll have to wait a day or just go to our fully stocked online store.
And finally, we’ll be making sure to properly I.D anybody purchasing a firearm. We’d hate for a mass shooting to be caused by anybody under 18.”
