Mauritius has claimed that the UK are an illegal colonial occupier after they failed to return the Chagos Islands. The UN gave the UK six months to hand it back but that deadline has now passed.
The United Kingdom claims that it forgot because it’s been too busy doing its Brexit coursework, which it has missed the deadline for twice now.
The UK says it will definitely get the Brexit coursework in for the next deadline and even declared to finish it early but we’ve heard that before.
The Chagos Archipelago has been an overseas territory of the UK since 1965. The British then gave permission for a US Naval base on the island.
It has been stated that the UK has been playing truant ever since. Instead, it has spent its time beating up Mauritius for its lunch money and buying cider with the cash to go drinking in the local park. This is often with its colonialist friends – the Dutch and France but apparently less with France because he can be a bit of a prick sometimes.
Britain has managed to convince America to do all their Chagos Islands homework because they let them sit next to them in class. It is even suggested that Britain got America to do a British Overseas Territory exam for them in exchange for a new XBOX.
The Chagos Islands were bought for £3 million and separated from Mauritius when it was still a British colony. Mauritius states that this was forced in order for them to gain independence, which occurred in 1968.
The British have apparently been calling the Mauritius a teacher’s pet because they went crying to the UN to complain. The UN then told the EU to discipline them, but the EU said it wasn’t worth it because hopefully they’re leaving soon.
It is not yet known if the UK will fail this Chagos Archipelago course but they are not overly bothered because the Americans got them an A* in a separate Chagossian assignment.
