Donald Trump abandoned the Iran nuclear deal to spite Barack Obama, according to a leaked memo written by the UK’s former ambassador in the US.
Meanwhile, at the Legion of Doom, the supervillain conglomerate have officially decried the decision as “disrespectful to the art of making the world worse for everyone”.
“He has no respect for our organisation or its values,” complains Gorilla Grodd, telepathic ape, “You’re meant to hide your vendettas in themed thefts or elaborate symbolism. It’s really disgraceful.”
The memo was written after the then Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson appealed to the US in 2018 to stick with the deal. The former ambassador Sir Kim Darroch described the move as an act of “diplomatic vandalism”.
Amongst all the famously inconsistent rambles Mr Trump’s one sticking point has been his fear that his cartoonist evil will be mistaken for regular evil.
The latest leak came despite the Met Police warning against publication.
This is a largely symbolic warning, given the ease with which villains can hack into every screen in the city in order to provide expository monologues.
The first memos criticising President Trump’s administration, which emerged a week ago, prompted a furious reaction from the US president and resulted in Sir Kim resigning from his role.
“Every self-respecting mastermind has called for the resignation of a hard-working civil servant at some point,” says cybernetic pirate Black Manta, before adding “Is the sarcasm clear? My giant helmet and Robot-voice make delivery difficult sometimes…”
The US president responded by calling Sir Kim as “a very stupid guy”, adding that he would no longer deal with him.
“I respect some of Mr Trump’s decisions,” says psychologist and scarecrow impersonator Jonathan Crane, “But sometimes he goes too far. Flint’s water is still more toxic than that time me, Posion Ivy and Clayface all tried to destroy Gotham at once… Oh, we’re not talking about that? Feels like we should still be talking about that… “
