The US has decided not to join an international initiative aimed at curbing online extremism.
President Trump is reportedly worried that rich white people could be adversely effected. ‘These are just misunderstood guys, okay? Good people. They’ve got an issue, a valid issue, and they are dealing with it the only way they know how. Extreme prejudicial violence. Big violence. The best violence. They are American guys protecting American values.’
‘Also – have you seen my tweets?!”
The White House stated it was ‘not currently in a position to join the endoresement’, citing free speech concerns.
‘We’ve gotta be able to say things,’ continued Trump. ‘You know who said that? George Washington. It’s in the Constitution or the Declaration or something, Gettysburg, who knows? Free speech is big, very big. Only for the White guys though, the Trump fans. The rest of them are crooks, like Clinton, and we will shut them down! They speak bad words, the worst words.’
Tech giants Facebook, Google, Amazon, Twitter and Microsoft have also signed up; aiming to prevent their platforms being used for spreading extremist material.
‘I love Twitter, I can talk to all my fans. You wanna talk about stopping hate, you should stop people saying mean things to me on there. I post tweets, great tweets, warning people that all Mexicans are rapists and Muslims are terrorists. I’m helping people. Then these people; Communists; Blacks; Browns; Women; crazy people, they call me a racist!? Donald J. Trump loves all people, even the confused White ones who think I’m bad.
Although not signing up, Washington has voiced support for the overall goals of the project.
However, a recent report has revealed that Mr Tump was behind a number of social media accounts that were banned for spreading hateful material, including the notorious ‘MexicoHater69’ and ‘BiglyTrumpFan’ accounts. When questioned Trump resonded ‘Those guys are patriots. They are worried about their country and are great men. Just because I set them up and sent all the messages doesn’t mean I had anything to do with it’.
