Tom Hanks wins the Only Hollywood Star Not Accused of Sexual Misconduct Award at the Golden Globes

The Hollywood Foreign Press Association said it will be “proud” to give the actor the 2020 Cecil B DeMille Award on the 5th January.

So many of our best-loved films have been ruined by their disgraced stars. After accusations against Morgan Freeman, many film-enthusiasts wish the prisoners of Shawshank stayed incarcerated. No young aspiring magician craves to join the Magic Circle now David Copperfield has been investigated, and the ’50 Must-See Films Before You Die’ has now been changed to ‘5 Films To Watch Over The Weekend’ after Harvey Weinstein was unmasked.

But beloved Tom Hanks has always managed to keep his nose, and his criminal record, unblemished.

As compelling as he is on the silver screen, he’s equally so behind the camera.”

A renowned calm and friendly family man, Hollywood always overlooked him in favour of sleazy casting directors and abusive actors. Finally, the awards organisers are finally listening to their audience.

The actor made his movie breakthrough playing a teenager trapped in an adult’s body in the 1988 movie ‘Big’.

But it was all above board. No teenagers or adults were harmed in the making of the film.

“For more than three decades, he’s captivated audiences with rich and playful characters.”

Nobody wants to work with Woody Allen anymore, but Hanks’s lovable cowboy Woody is still going strong three sequels in.

The Cecil B DeMille Lifetime Achievement award is given annually to an actor, director or producer who has made a lasting impact on the film industry.

And unlike so many of his peers, Tom has actually made a positive one. Hanks has been vocal on Twitter this week, stressing to his followers the importance of registering to vote.

But only if they’re old enough.

Hanks could potentially take this opportunity to address political issues at the Golden Globes, to be held in Beverly Hills on 5th January.

Now Tom has been honoured with the ultimate of accolades, perhaps it’s time for him to leave the world of Hollywood sleaze behind and follow Schwarzenegger into politics!

Run for President, Tom, Run!
