The SNP would be prepared to support a Labour government but one of their red lines would be a commitment to scrap Trident.
Party leader Nicola Sturgeon told Sky’s Sophie Ridge if anyone attacks Scotland she’ll ‘just nut ’em’.
Appearing on the show in full Sturgeon tartan and with St Andrews cross painted on her face, Sturgeon said ‘Nothing; no man, no woman, not even a nuclear missile can withstand a well executed Glasgow kiss’.
She said the tens of millions required to renew Trident would be ‘better spent on ‘stronger, conventional defence’.
she believes Scotland can be kept safe by using its natural resources such as the landscape, coastline and incredibly aggressive accent. Asked how the decision would effect Scottish jobs, Ms Sturgeon said there would be ‘plenty of jobs created by a commitment to fill in the gaps in Hadrian’s Wall’.
The Labour manifesto includes a pledge to renew Trident. And Jeremy Corbyn has said there won’t be a second referendum on Scottish independence in the ‘early years’ of a Labour government.
But the SNP leader said she believes both policies can be ‘renegotiated with a short sharp headbutt, or failing that an army of gingerbearded tribesmen in kilts, armed with claymore’s and vengeance’.
If that fails, she said she’ll send round a bagpiper to screech the Labour leader into meeting her demands.
