MPs are to face greater scrutiny over second jobs – after it was found that almost one in five have regular, paid commitments outside parliament.
The inquiry was prompted by George Osborne taking on the editorship of the evening standard last year while still a backbench MP – but not all MPs have been making ends meet in such glamorous ways.
