Vladimir Putin has said he believes the US Senate will reject Donald Trump’s impeachment,
before nudging a colleague and winking to camera.
The Russian president described the charges brought against Trump as ‘far-fetched’
And said there’s more chance of two Russian agents randomly travelling to Salisbury to look at a spire, than there is of the allegations against Trump being proven to be true.
President Trump is accused of breaking the law by pressuring Ukraine’s leader to dig up damaging information on a political rival.
A suggestion which Putin said was ‘probably just those bastard Ukrainians not accepting that bigger, more powerful states can exert power over them at will,’ and ‘nothing that can’t be smoothed over with a few tanks and a complete disregard for human rights.’
He went on to liken Trump’s impeachment to the earlier US probe into collusion with Russia.
Saying, ‘Just because both countries are run by self-serving, power hungry arseholes, it doesn’t necessarily mean that we’re colluding with each other.’
Mr Trump welcomed the Russian president’s support which he said he is ‘always very grateful for.’
After delivering his verdict on the impeachment, Putin stripped to his underpants, did 25 one-armed press ups then rode to Siberia on horseback.
