I'm not heartless - I'm just an absolute bastard explains Toby Young

Political commentator Toby Young has been branded ‘heartless’ after he said that money could be saved by not saving elderly people from the Coronavirus.

Young denied the claim and said he’s ‘just an absolute bastard.’

Young accused the government of ‘overreacting’ to the outbreak by spending money on it.

And he suggested that ‘perhaps just saving the cash and hoping for the best would be a better option.’

He went on to say that ‘spending £350 bn to prolong the lives of a few hundred thousand mostly elderly people is irresponsible.’

Young said he believes that taxpayers’ money should be spent on other projects such as ‘euthanising anyone over the age of 70 and putting the homeless on a massive bonfire.

Following his comments, Young faced a furious backlash on Twitter.

Which made him feel far more like normal after weeks of isolation have left questioning whether he really is hated by the entire world.

Some said that he would change his view if he contracted the virus but Young, who says he thinks he already has the virus, said if the NHS couldn’t treat him, his death would be ‘acceptable collateral damage’ to prevent a drop in GDP.

His request has been forwarded to the NHS.
