Hollywood to make movie of Women’s World Cup…with all male cast

After last night’s thrilling semi-final became the most-watched TV programme of the year with 11.7 million fans tuning in…

…Hollywood have decided to make a movie of the USA’s epic journey with an all-male cast.

A Hollywood spokesperson explained “The problem is there aren’t any female actors that can play football nor are there any women footballers that can act so it’s their fault really.”

England were narrowly beaten by the USA after an edge-of-the-seat clash which saw Steph Houghton miss a late penalty and failing to equalise resulting in an epic 2-1 win for the USA.

But, the excitement will be recreated for the big screen later this year.

“We originally suggested that it should be made into an hilarious comedy starring Rebel Wilson and Melissa McCarthy and be really really funny like Ghostbusters and Oceans 8 but after watching Ghostbusters and Oceans 8 it was decided that it should be an all-male cast.

Early rumours suggest that Dwayne Johnson will play Ellen White, Johnny Depp will play Captain Steph Houghton  and Daniel Radcliffe will go in goal.
