As the chaos continues at Westminster, beleaguered Boris Johnson has been dealt another blow as Orpington MP and Minister of State for Education Jo Johnson resigned…
…from his role as younger brother.
In a statement issued earlier today Johnson (Jo) who had held the hereditary position since 1971 stated “It’s been an honour to have the role of Boris’s younger brother for the last 47 years and a pleasure to see him through many shambolic episodes and embarrassing incidents. In recent weeks I’ve been torn between family loyalty and the fact that he’s clearly a dishonest tit. It’s an unresolvable tension and time for others to take on the arduous role of younger brother to Boris. Unfortunately this makes my roles as younger brother to Rachel, son to my equally irksome father Stanley and older brother to Leo untenable and so I invite them to seek alternative representation in that regard.”
Jo isn’t the first Johnson to resign his familial post in response to Boris’ wacky antics. He joins ex-wives Allegra Mostyn-Owen and Marina Wheeler in walking away from the Eton educated Worzel Gummidge tribute act, while his 5-10 kids have repeatedly refused to take up their posts.
There is currently no news on who is in the frame to replace Jo as Boris’s younger brother, but early bookmakers favourite Ed Sheeran has ruled himself out, and Piers Morgan’s pleas for consideration appear to be falling on deaf ears.
